Inspired by the River: Unfolding Origins Artist Update

An update from Nick Jordan & Jacob Cartwright on their recent filming trip in North Yorkshire.

We had a very productive few days filming in Richmondshire, near Keld. We captured lots of good material, including filming with Yorkshire musician Sam McLoughlin. Inspired by what we've learnt about Neddy Dick, and his instruments made from rocks from the River Swale, we invited Sam to bring his unique, self-made river harp and record sounds it creates from the motion of the water.

We're now focussing on editing the film, including footage and material from the Record Office, and looking to create a voice-over from the writings of the Kearton brothers, with the river harp sounds forming the soundtrack too.
