Contemporary Artists in Rural Contexts I

This event was the first in a series of symposia organised by Chrysalis Arts, exploring how contemporary artists are working in rural environments and with rural themes, are developing new platforms and ideas for creating and showcasing visual arts practice and new approaches to collaboration and audience engagement. The programme showcased a range of innovative approaches from individual artists, curators and artist-led groups.

Speakers included Michelle Dickson of Arts Council England, Jan Hogarth of Wide Open, Joanne Karr artist, Simon Lee Dicker artist, curator and founder of OSR Projects, Richard Povall, artist, educator and consultant and  Patrick Wildgust curator of Shandy Hall.
