Thursday 16 September
Location: North Yorkshire County Record Office

Do you enjoy history and historical fiction? Have you ever wanted to dive deeper into an historic archive?

Artist Carolyn Thompson's free upcoming workshop will give you the opportunity to explore exciting archival materials in the North Yorkshire County Archives at the County Record Office.

Join Carolyn, as she shares some of the WWI papers she has come across in her research, and discusses how an artist uses these materials in her work.

After your discussions, you'll get the chance to try your hand at this exciting creative process. By delving into the archival material, you'll interact first hand with the texts and create new fictional narratives from history.

The workshop will focus on WWI Appeals Papers and John Brough’s Diary as well as other materials from North Yorkshire County Record Office. This event is a part of our Unfolding Origins Project.
