Environment & Place

Chrysalis is a designated Arts Council England Lead Organisation in Environmental Sustainability. For the past ten years, a key aspect of Chrysalis Arts’ work has focused upon exploring and promoting the role of the visual arts within environmental sustainability and the development of new approaches to sustainable arts practice.

Our work in this area has included the production of Public Art and Sustainability Guidelines and the development of a Slow Art strand of activity involving diverse projects, commissions and exhibitions designed to raise awareness and increase creative engagement with environmental sustainability issues.

Alongside our sustainable arts practice focus, Chrysalis Arts programme continues to explore new ways of engaging with artists and audiences in a changing rural context and of extending the reach of this work.
