Who We Are

Chrysalis Arts Development Ltd is a not-for-profit company with a board of seven experienced and highly skilled directors which meets quarterly to monitor the operations of the company, its finances, budgets, policies and programmes of activity. Single issue meetings are scheduled between Board meetings for example: staffing / contracts or fundraising. The Board set and approves overall strategy and priorities and carry out risk analyses. The Board also takes responsibility for monitoring and evaluation of policies and ensures these procedures are carried out effectively. Consensus decision-making applies and current board members include a mix of Executive and Non Executive directors, whose summary biogs can be found below:

 

RICK FAULKNER
Executive Director

Rick Faulkner has worked as both an artist and development director for the company and is managing director of the company.

 

CHRISTINE KEOGH
Executive Director

Christine Keogh has worked extensively in arts management, arts development and as a consultant. She leads on the development of the company’s artistic and CPD programmes and is Director of Art Connections.

 

KATE MADDISON
Non Executive Director & Artist

Kate Maddison is a practising artist and designer. She leads and manages public art projects, runs training and professional development for artists and is very skilled at developing community involvement programmes.

 

SARA TRENTHAM-BLACK
Non Executive Director

Sara Trentham was Visual Arts Officer at Arts Council England between 2002 and 2010. She is an associate lecturer in cultural policy and management at Sheffield Hallam University and a director of Culture Partners.

 

PAUL KELLY
Non Executive Director

Paul Kelly is a Community Empowerment Manager at Community Gateway Housing Association in Preston. Previously he was Lanc CC ‘s Head of Arts and also worked for Liverpool Housing Action Trust.

 

HELEN TURNER
Non Executive Director, Artist & Educator

Helen Turner is Director of Subject for BA Fine Art, Illustration and Photography and MA Fine Art at York St John University, with a background in Public Art, specialising in Textiles, and experienced in project management, including community engagement.

 

DAVID HALEY
Non Executive Director & Ecological Artist, Researcher & Educator

David Haley is a Visiting Professor at Zhongyuan University of Technology; Research Advisor to Transart Institute; Vice Chair of the CIWEM Art & Environment Network and Trustee of Futures Venture Foundation.
